KELLY IN GOOD FORM IN GERMANY
Kelly McNeice had two good performances in Germany this week over 1500m and 800m following on from a good third at the European League.
NI CHAMPS
Christine Long picked up a bronze medal in the womens 800m at the NI champs at the Antrim forum. Clubmate Rachel Gibson finished 6th in 2m23.16.
Ciara selected for EYOF and World
Ciara Mageean has been added to the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) team for the 2009 Games in Tampere, Finland next month. Ciara has been selected over 1500m for the popular championships held on the blue track!
MCNEICE SELECTED FOR EUROPEAN CUP
The Irish Team has been selected to compete in the first European Team Championships (formerly European Cup) which will be held on the 20th and 21st of June in Banska, Slovakia.
LISBURN HALF MARATHON AND FUN RUN
Chris Madden finished 14th in the City of Lisburn 10k on wed 17th June in 35m01.
Double for Ciara
Ciara Mageean (Assumption Ballyhinch) took the lead from the gun in the senior 800m, with Ciara Everard (Pres Kilkenny) on her shoulder. From the bell Mageean began to edge away from her rival, but with 200m to go she really stretched her legs and pulled away for a most convincing win. Her time of 2:05.38 destroyed Elizabeth McWilliams 2004 record of 2:10.07.
