Irelands top sprinter 2nd in sprints in Riga

Ireland’s top sprinter Amy Foster made a solid start to her international season with two 2nd places in last night’s International meeting in Riga, Lithunia.

In the 100 metres where there was a marginal following wind  the 24 year old Newtownards woman was timed at 11.55 secs which is only 0.06 secs slower than her joint NI record set two years ago. The winner was former World Youth bronze medallist Cleo VanBuren of the US who recorded 11.50 secs.
 Amy also finished 2nd in the 200 metres behind VanBuren in a time of 23.90 secs which was 0.15 secs slower than the winner.
