N. Ireland Masters T&F champs 27 June

Athletics is certainly a sport for all ages. The previous Sunday saw 6 and 7 years olds running and jumping at the MPT. This Sunday it was athletes aged up to 60 and 70 (and older!) who were competing in warm and sunny conditions at the N. Ireland Masters (over 35’s) championships.

Somewhere in the middle of these age ranges, a couple of City of Lisburn athletes took home a number of titles. Paddy Crossan looked in great shape when winning the 400m plus a silver in the 200m in the M45 age-group. Jonny McWhinney made up for the frustration of three no-throws in the discus by taking gold in the M35 hammer in a PB and also in the shot in a season’s best.
