U13 Girls
This age group got us off to a great start with the 70m Hurdles. Erin was our top performer in this event running a huge PB of 12.59s to win the B race, just 0.06s behind the winner of the A race. Holly ran in the A race and her time of 13.27s was enough for 2nd place. Holly went again in the B sprint running 10.96s. Alex ran an excellent 11.11s.
Alex then showed her versatility by running a huge PB of 2.41.67 for 3rd in the A 800m with Anna H winning the B race in yet another PB of 2.49.94.
In the field events Erin carried her excellent early season form into this event with a PB of 1.25m for 2nd in the A HJ with OliviaN tackling the B for a PB of her own. In the LJ Erin once again was to the fore with her PB leap of 3.85m leaving her only 4cms short of winning the A stream while Holly jumped 3.57m for 2nd in the B stream.
Erin, Olivia, Alex and Holly then combined in the relay running 59.79s for an excellent 2nd place behind Finn Valley.
Athlete of the Match: Holly M

U13 Boys
The boys in this age group also acquitted themselves very well with plenty of fine performances. Once again the hurdlers were first up with BenG having an excellent debut in the event winning the A race in 15.91s. Adam followed this with a PB of his own of 16.89s to take 3rd in the B race. Both boys were back in action in the sprint with Ben taking 3rd this time in the A event and Adam 4th in the B with another PB of 16.05s.
In the 800m JoshP exactly matched his PB of 2.42.21 for 4th in the A race and Peter had a fine debut in the B race to finish 2nd in 2.47.36.
Peter showed his all around ability to take 2nd in the B HJ with another PB performance of 1.20m to back up team mate Adam’s 1.30m PB for 4th in the A event.
BenG was back in action yet again in the Shot where both he and team mate Lewis finished 3rd in their respective streams for yet more very useful points for CoLAC.
The relay was one of the races of the day with BenG anchoring his team including Adam, Lewis and Josh to 1st place bypassing the opposition on the home straight to finish with a time of 59.7s.
Athlete of the Match: Adam

U15 Girls
Grace and AnnaS ran in the hurdles in this age group with Anna’s time of 13.84s an excellent debut in the event for 3rd in her race. Seasoned hurdler Grace ran 13.43s for 2nd in her first run over the 75m Hurdles. Next AnnaM and Aimee tackled the sprint with Anna taking second in the A race in 13.65s and Aimee 1st in the B with 13.68s.
OliviaN and SarahF both ran well in the 800m to each take 2nd place in the A & B stream.
The 2 Annas combined in the HJ with AnnaM clearing 1.50m for 3rd in the A stream and AnnaS winning the B.
Shannon and LaurenK were in action in the LJ securing 3rd and 5th in their respective streams for yet more valuable points for the club.
In the first throw of the day novice Hammer thrower Tyla managed to score 4th in the A event with her 17.39m best while OliviaS took 2nd in the B with 14.92m. Tyla was in action again in the shot circle and took another 4th with 7.24m ahead of Grace who was 5th in the B before moving to the Javelin where she was 4th in the B and SarahT took 5th in the A stream with both girls competing in this event for the first time.
There were more debutants in action in the discus where I think Aimee (16.92m) and LaurenK (10.47m) both won their respective streams despite what the results say!
The relay team of Grace, Aimee, AnnaS and AnnaM combined to take another 1st in a time of 52.77s.
Athlete of the match: Aimee

U15 Boys
Again the first event on the track for this age group was the hurdles where JoshA and Ethan got us off to the perfect start by each winning their race by considerable margins in times of 12.57s and 13.43s respectively. Josh’s time was a big PB and Ethan’s was an extremely fast first ever hurdle race.
Josh was joined by Bradley for the sprint and ran another PB of 13.72s while Bradley registered a swift 12.69s given the head wind to take 4th and 3rd respectively. Bradley scored a PB of his own in the 300m taking 3rd in 39.75 with Leon also 3rd in the B race.
Over 2 laps Sean took 3rd in the A race with Callum running a PB of 2.23.10 for 2nd in the B event.
In the field events Leon and Simon took 3rd and 2nd respectively with their PB throws of 19.60m and 16.39m in their first ever attempt at the hammer. Leon got another PB with his 9.46m shot putt with ChrisL producing a PB of his own for 3rd in the B stream.
In the Javelin Bradley took second in the A with his throw of 25.76m while Ethan managed another PB of 18.91m for 2nd in the B event. JoshA was our only discus thrower taking 5th with 15.01m
Chris long jumped to a new PB himself for 3rd in the B while Ethan then took 2nd in the LJ A stream with yet another PB of 4.74m to join Erin as one of the athletes scoring 3 PBs on the day.
The relay team of Josh, Leon, Ethan and Bradley won their event in 51.81s.
Athlete of the match: Ethan

U17 Girls
The girls continued the superb hurdling of their younger team mates by taking maximum points here with PBs from Kate (12.71s) and Therese (13.64s) for the 2 fastest times in the event.
Sprinters Megan (12.24s)and Cara (14.42s PB) took 1st and 3rd in their respective races despite the head wind. Sophie was our only 300m runners but she did a great job in securing 3rd place and more valuable points for us. RebekahD and Zoe were also our sole entries for the 800m and 3000m but both took full points with their first places in their respective events with Rebekah leaving the chasers 10s in her wake!
We had another clean sweep in the HJ with Cara and AlixG both clearing 1.55m for maximum points. Alix then combined with SarahW for yet another double first in the shot. We were inexplicably short of long jumpers with Jodie stepping into the breach to fly the CoLAC flag in an unfamiliar event for her, picking up valuable points and a PB to boot.
Sarah and LaurenR combined for double 2nd places in the javelin and Natalia and Jodie took 2nd (22.34m) and 1st (20.64m) in the Hammer before Rebekah, Sophie, Kate and Therese combined to win the relay in 53.42s.
Athlete of the match: Kate

U17 boys
We were represented by a much reduced U17 boys team having been informed they were not scoring for the club.
Our hurdler BenF ran a PB into a strong head wind to win convincingly in 14.4s. it was frustrating that this was the only race of the day were the electronic timing malfunctioned.
In the sprint we were represented by Tom and Matthew but some paper work snarl up meant Matthews efforts could not be included in the results. Tom ran well into the wind to take 5th in 12.33s.
Ciaran was racing again following an injury lay off but managed to win the A race with Jake stepping down to this distance well to make it a double first for CoLAC with a PB time of 54.68s.
Robbie was our sole representative in the HJ which he won with a clearance of 1.75m.
BenF and Matthew both competed in the LJ with Ben jumping to a another PB of 6.34m.
Ben, Tom, Ryan and Ciaran combined to win the relay in 46.85s
