Tue 31 January 2012--admin

There were some outstanding performances by members of the City of Lisburn junior squad at a bitterly cold Ormeau Park last Tuesday at the District B (Belfast / South Antrim) qualifiers for the Ulster Schools in a few weeks time.

Mini (year 8)

Matthew Neill had a superb win in the Year 8 Mini boys race, with Sean Terek in 8th also safely through to Mallusk. For the girls Emma Conlin qualified in 9th.

Minor (year 9)

Madison Bowyer retained her district crown with Rebekah Douglas going one better than last year in second. Naimh Madden was 25th, with Matthew Dalton 26th in the boys’ race.

Junior (year 10)

In the Junior age-group Zoe Carruthers was a comfortable winner for the third City of Lisburn district title of the day. Pentathlete Jessica McMaster had a useful endurance work-out finishing 15th. In the boys’ race Tom Baird had a great run for 2nd place.

Intermediate (years 11 & 12)

Rebecca Harvey was in the medals with a good run for 3rd while Lauren Gourley was 25th.

Well done to all those mentioned above and especially to the three 2012 district champions – Matthew, Maddie and Zoe!
