Heather fastest lady at new Queens parkrun

Parkrun regular Alison Gibson along with Heather McLarnon, dad Des plus Grainne Keenan all made sure that City of Lisburn AC were represented this morning at the debut event of the latest parkrun 5k to reach Belfast.
Over at the Dub in the Queens parkrun Heather McLarnon had the honour of finishing first lady from the 77 strong field – a healthy turn-out for the first event. Her time of 21:17 left her 12th overall. Grainne was 3rd lady in a very respectable 23:30 while Alison was 5th lady in 24:02. Desi McLarnon was 26th (3rd M55) in 23:20.
Unlike the other two Belfast parkruns which run exclusively on tarmac paths, this one is on a gravel trail with a few wee hills for good measure and no doubt more City of Lisburn athletes will check it out in the coming weeks and months.
