Amanda and Kathryn at Winter Throws

Up at the Antrim Forum this morning a couple of junior City of Lisburn throwers took advantage of good conditions to record very useful performances at the last of the Winter Long Throws series.

Amanda Mitchell made her first competitive appearance of 2012 and recorded 25.63m in the discus. This is her best opening throw of any season and she improved round by round to eventually finish within a metre of her PB. This left her 3rd in the competition.

In the hammer Kathryn Wallace also had her best ever start to a season, throwing an excellent first round effort of 36.53m, which placed her 2nd. This was also within a metre of her PB.

Well done to both the ladies, who look set to build on these promising starts as the season progresses.
