All-Ireland silver for Aoibhin!

Club highlight of the second weekend of the All-Ireland Juvenile championships in Nenagh was a fabulous U17 long jump silver medal for Aiobhin McManus. Her series included all six jumps at over 5 metres with an indoor PB of 5.25m securing 2nd place. This was a big improvement on her 5th place in this age-group last year in Magherafelt and she will be aiming to carry this excellent form through to the outdoor season.

The U17 boys’ High Jump included two City of Lisburn athletes who had qualified from the Odyssey. Andrew Hutchinson was just outside the medals in 4th place in 1.75m, with Fiontann Curran 11th in an indoor PB of 1.60m. Andrew was also 6th in the long jump with a best jump of 5.64m.

On the Sunday two relay teams were in action – the U13 boys, who travelled down as N. Ireland and Ulster champions after their success in Magherafelt , and also the U12 girls. Unfortunately neither of the squads progressed from their heats but by all accounts they thoroughly enjoyed the experience including the overnight stay.
For the record the squads were:

U13 boys – Sean Terek, Ben Ritchie, Bradley Mulholland, Simon McMaster

U12 girls – Olivia Savage, Grace Hillman, Erin Fisher and Tyla Evey.
