Good start for CoL at Young Athletes League Rd 1

Saturday 28th April saw the City of Lisburn AC junior squad make a very solid start to this year’s N. Ireland Young Athletes League. A full report will follow once results and points totals are confirmed. Almost 60 of our young athletes were in action in a strong team effort across the three age-groups. Individual star of the meet overall was undoubtedly Megan Marrs who broke the YAL league record with a superb 1.63m PB to move her into the top 5 in the UK Under 15 rankings for 2012. Probably even more impressive though was her 11.57s 75m hurdles win which moves her to No. 1 in the UK rankings.
Megan was therefore the clear winner of the “Athlete of the Match” award for the U15 girls. The Team Managers have selected the winners of the remaining categories as follows:-
