Parkruns – Grainne wins & PBs for Noel and Trevor

Sat 9 June 2012--admin

There was a quartet of City of Lisburn athletes in action at a cool but dry Victoria Park parkrun this morning. First home was Andrew Watson who is regularly sub-22 mins these days and it was no different this week as he recorded 21:52 to finish 31st overall and 7th M40. Just two places back was Trevor Carruthers who likes this course and recorded his best ever parkrun time here with 22:13 which left him a good 3rd M45.

Best run of all by the Lisburn gang this week was undoubtedly from Noel Branagh who knocked nearly 50 seconds off his best with a 24:12 run which placed him 57th overall and 6th M45. Jonny McWhinney made his first parkrun appearance in several months due to injury and enjoyed his comeback run in a sedate 27:16 to finish 93rd of the 141 runners out this morning.

Over at Queens Grainne Keenan had the honour of being first lady home in a time of 23:51. There were 44 athletes in action at Queens this week.

Well done to all especially Grainne on her maiden parkrun victory!
