24.04s for Amy in Euro 200m heats

Amy Foster’s participation in the 2012 European Championships finished after her run in a tough heat in the 200m rounds yesterday morning. She finished 6th in a time of 24.04 seconds in a race won by Ryemyen of Ukraine in 22.77 seconds.
Amy has been concentrating more on the shorter sprint this year and has run very few 200’s but will have benefitted from the experience here as she now begins her final push in her bid to secure a place on the Irish Olympic team for London.
She will now compete at the AAI Senior Championships next weekend at Santry over 100m where she has her title to defend after a good win last year.
