Amy, Kelly & Libby in the medals at Irish Seniors

Mon 9 July 2012--admin

The Morton Stadium, Santry was the venue for the Irish Senior track and field championships this weekend. Three City of Lisburn athletes brought home medals from Dublin and there were a number of other strong performances.

Amy Foster was the clear winner of the 100m in 11.60s to comfortably retain her title from last year, although decided against defending her 200m title. Kelly Neely is the NI champion over 800m this year but went over 1500m here, winning a bronze medal for her 4:21.22 run. Libby Rose was our third medallist, running a 15.95s PB for third place and her first Irish Senior medal. Also in action was Erin McIlveen who was 9th in the 800m in 2:14.24.

Of the men, Chris Reynolds was unfortunate to finish just outside the medals in 4th place after throwing a great 44.46m, while Adam Hill equalled his PB with 1.90m to finish 6th in the high jump.

Well done to Amy, Kelly, Libby and our other athletes on their good performances in Dublin.
