NI & ULSTER Senior Ladies Champs

City of Lisburn AC dominated the Northern Ireland and Ulster Cross Country Championships at the University of Ulster, Coleraine last Saturday winning the Ladies team title for the first time since 1998.
Victory was set up with magnificent performances from Kelly Reid and Ruth Gillespie. Kelly overhauled long time leader and reigning champion Jill Shannon with about 800m to go of the 6k course, having been over 100m behind on Lap 1. U18 Champion Ruth Gillespie will surely win this title in the near future based on her run for third place.
Kelly and Ruth combined with solid top twenty performances from the rest of the team saw City of Lisburn take the Ladies title. 800m runner Christine Long was next scorer in 15th place. Friend?s pupil Rachel Pearson began her comeback from injury with an 18th place, with Dromara?s Kyla Heanan and Hannah Addley the fifth and sixth scorers.
