The medals were a little harder to come by on day two of the All-Ireland age-group championships at a showery Tullamore today, but Alix Galbraith, Adam Hill and Robbie Marrs made sure that City of Lisburn colours were seen on the medal rostrum thanks to their three 3rd place finishes.

Alix couldn’t quite match her 1.51m PB which she cleared while winning the NI title, but her 1.48m here gave her U14 bronze, her first All-Ireland medal. Katie O’Reilly was 10th with 1.25m. Robbie Marrs won his bronze with a great throw of 10.83m in the U14 shot and Adam had a great leap of 12.41m for U19 triple jump bronze.

Kathryn Wallace just missed out on the medals with a 4th place in the U19 hammer with 32.22m while brother Sam was 6th in the U16 250m hurdles in 37.16s.

Jonny Whan was 7th in the U16 3000m in 9:58, while Jane Anderson’s 39.25s left her 6th in the U16 250mH. Sean Terek was in action in the U13 600m where he was 10th in 1:49.13.

Lauren Rea made her All=Ireland debut and was 9th in the U15 shot with 8.00m and 10th at discus with 20.19m, while Louis McGuckian just missed the cut in 9th place with 27.31m in the U14 javelin, just behind his PB. Caitlin Rose was in action in the 250m hurdles where she missed out on the final.

Congratulations to Alix, Robbie and Adam on their medals.
