Dave 4th at Sea 2 Sky 10k

Friday night past saw a new event on the local racing calendar. Newcastle was the venue for the SEA 2 SKY 10k. Promoted by BORN 2 RUN the race started on the beach in Newcastle and was a multi-terrain race with most of the 10k course off-road. Runners climbed by forest trail to an elevated finishing position where their efforts were rewarded by stunning views of Newcastle and beyond.
Dave Lonnen had an excellent run, finishing 4th overall in 38:45 with Declan Morgan placing a solid 21st in 42:37. Orla Smyth finished well up the ladies’ field with her run of 49:44. Over 400 athletes finished the race so very well done to our trio.
