City of Lisburn ladies reach All-Ireland Final!

The City of Lisburn senior ladies are having a good track season. After winning the N. Ireland Team Trophy, the women have now qualified for the final of the All-Ireland League which will be held at Tullamore on 19 August. After the two qualifying rounds City of Lisburn have made it through in a solid 5th place after a good all-round performance at a very blustery Santry on Sunday.

Libby Rose was second in both hurdles races, including a PB of 65.11s in the one lap race. Aoibhin McManus was 4th in the 100 in 14.51s (-6.9 m/s!) with Erin McIlveen dropping down to the 200m where she was 6th in a useful 26.69s (-4.2) plus she also had a great run in the 400m in which she was 4th in 56.79s . Kelly Neely was second in a quality 800m in 2:08.59s. Courtney Sloan scored well in 4th at 1500m with a 5:08 run while Judith Lowry made an extremely impressive track debut, enjoying her 3000m where she was 3rd in 10:35.

In the jumps Linzi Herron was 3rd at long jump with 5.40m , Michelle Rodgers 5th at high jump with 1.35m and Aoibhin McManus 4th at triple jump with 9.60m.

The throws were notable for a big PB for Sylvia Rose who broke the 30m barrier for the first time when placing 2nd at javelin with 32.15m. Libby Rose was 3rd in shot with 8.78m while Caris Greenwood scored good points while placing 3rd at discus with a 34m effort. Amanda Mitchell provided good cover at hammer where she was 5th with 2.80m

Both relay teams were 5th. Congratulations to Team Manager Annie Rose and her squad on a great day’s work!
