Gold rush for Orla in Kent!

There is good news from the 2012 UK Transplant Games where Orla Smyth has had another successful meet. Orla travelled over to Medway in Kent with team-mates from Northern Ireland and picked up no less than 5 golds, with wins in the following events:-
3K walk
Mini Marathon
1500m
800m
400m
– Plus a team silver in the relay!
Highlights were a PB of 2:35 in the 800m plus a 12:03 PB for the 3k “mini-marathon” on a hilly course.
Orla had a few injury problems earlier this year but found fitness and form at exactly the right time for a great finish to her season. Hopefully she can maintain this into next year when she will head to South Africa to defend her World Transplant Games titles.
