Well done to four of our adventurous athletes who took on the considerable challenge of the 26 Extreme Causeway Half Marathon at the weekend.

The City of Lisburn quartet battled tough winds over 13.1 miles of a rugged multi-terrain course although were rewarded by some stunning views from the cliff-top sections. The route covers much of the spectacular coastal path around the Giant’s Causeway area, finishing in Portballintrae.

From a field of 295 athletes overall Declan Morgan was first Lisburn athlete home in 22nd with a time of 1.51:96. Ruth Little had an excellent run, placing 32nd overall and 4th female in 1.55:30.

Neil Robinson was 41st in 1.57:45 with Orla Smyth 143rd overall but 17th lady in 2.13:09.
