Jordanstown Indoor Championships

Last Saturday, 2nd of March saw the final races of the NI & Ulster Junior Indoor Championships, at the new ‘Champs’ venue of Jordanstown indoor track at the University of Ulster campus .All races were for 60m & 60mHurdles only.
6 Golds 5 Silvers & 3 Bronzes plus many PBs were achieved by City of Lisburn athletes.
Megan Marrs won double Gold in the U17 60 & 60mH with 2 pbs Megan, in her first outing over the 60mH at the 100m hurdle spacing,ran a great time of 8.70sec. which eclipsed her 8.71s of the British champs of the previous week-end where she took Silver; to place her 2nd in the UK U15 60mH ranks! Brother Robbie, also took Double Gold with 2 pbs in the U15, 60 & 60mH where Josh Armstrong was 2nd. Bradley Mulholland was also 3rd in the U14 60m. Ben Gibson also took Bronze in the U12 60m. The U13 girls 60m saw a Colac 1&2 with Anna McCauley piping Grace Hillman by 3/100s of a second. A Gold Bronze combination came from Hurdle debutante Kate Farrelly and 3rd placed Sarah Woods in the U16.60mH, plus training partners Alix Galbraith & Cara Burke both took silver in the U15 60mH & the u17 60mH. Mathew Dalton added to his Magherafelt golds in the U16 60mH with yet another PB. The final medallist was Jonathan Hill, who surprised himself with an excellent U19 60m sprint Silver in one of the last races of a very long day.
