Irish Schools Finals

Rebecca Douglas competed in the Irish Schools on Saturday, she finished second in a nail biting home straight battle, gaining her a new pb of 2.20.29. coach Andrea said  “she was fantastic and really gutsy, if she hadn’t run most of the race in lane 3 she might have won it, but it was excellent experience”. Also, Rebecca Wallace competed at the age groups in FinnValley stadium, she also finished second and achieved a pb of 1.57, four seconds off a pb on her 600m time. Josh Patterson also ran a pb by 6 seconds finishing mid field.

Zoe Carruthers doubled up in the 3000m and 1500m which unfortunately were held on the same day, did extremely well to finish 4th in the 3K, in a time of 10m38s and 5th in 1500m in 4m57s

In the Intermediate Girls there were wins for Roseanna McGuckian of BallymenaAcademy in both the 200m and 300m. In the 200m Roseanna took first place in 24,54secs, setting a new Irish schools record, followed by gold in the 300metres in 39.40secs. Megan Marrs of Strathearn Grammar took first place in the 80mH in 11.68secs.
