Once again the sprinters Holly and Cara got things underway with great finishes of 3rd and 6th in their respective streams with that lovely tail wind blowing them along to great times of 11.53s and 11.61s in the 75m.
Over the 150m Erin and AnnaH both took 5th in their streams in 23.11s and 22.42s respectively. AnnaH was then joined by Alex in the 1200m with AnnaH taking 3rd in the A race in 4.21.02 and Alex 2nd in the B in 4.22.64.

AnnaM won the 100m in an excellent 12.96s, her first time under 13s, with Eve making it full points with her win in the B race. Grace and Emilia combined in the 200m finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the 1500m we had one of the performances of the day from young OliviaN who was the only girl of any age to run under 5 mins. Her time of 4.57.60 is an amazing feat for a girl who will still be eligible for this age group next year. Sprinter Grace bravely tackled this unfamiliar distance too in order to pick up some very valuable points for the team.
Our jumpers also earned us a lot of points with AnnaM and KatieO taking double firsts in High Jump before Eve(4.95m) and Shannon(4.48m) finished 1st and 2nd in their respective Long jumps streams
In the throws OliviaS took 2nd in the A Discus(16.50m) and B Javelin(14.76m) with team mate Tyla !st in the B Discus and 3rd in the A Javelin (17.31m).
The relay team ended the day with a win!

U17 Boys
I’m not sure if it was the One Direction concert or taking the wrong direction to the event but our U17 boys were a bit short on numbers. Still, those who made it did a great job.
TomM got things off to a good start in the 100m where relative new comer Conor suffered the harsh false start rules in place for this age group. In the 400m Ciaran managed 2nd in the A stream (despite the lack of hurdles) with Ryan backing him up with a fine win in the B race.
MattJ took 3rd in the LJ.
Mark made up for missing the LJ by leaping to a new YDLNI record of 13.43m in the Triple Jump with Ryan again taking a superb 1st in the B event in his first TJ competition.
Andrew added the NIYDL record to his rapidly increasing collection in the Discus with his 48.86m throw to win the A stream with Leon making it full points for CoLAC with his B stream win. The 2 boys combined again in the Javelin with Leon 5th and Andrew 3rd in their respective streams.
The boys combined for 2nd in the relay
Athletes of the match: Mark and Andrew.
U17 Girls
Kate and Therese are also more accustomed to running over barriers but both managed great flat races to finish 2nd and 1st in their streams. Sophie and Jess tackled the 200m for 5th and 1st with Jess’s 27.16s the fastest overall.
SarahF was our only 1500m entrant where her 3rd place added much needed points for the team. Catriona took 2nd as our sole 3000m runner in 10.48.16.
SarahW and Jess combined in the HJ where their dual clearances of 1.45m were enough for 2nd in the A and 1st in the B with Triple jumpers Jess and Kate also taking 2nd and 1st.
Our Shot putters Alix(10.42m) and SarahW (7.99m) lifted maximum points with their double wins.
The relay team also won their event.
