The third round of these competitions saw more success for CoLAC athletes once again. We had fewer athletes in action, perhaps due to a combination of the weather and other recent competitions but we still managed loads of medals.
In the U11 age group we had only one athlete involved but Ella did the job of a whole team by winning both the 60m hurdles and the Turbo javelin to lift both the gold medals on offer for this category.
In the U13s we also had only one boy but once again Zack produced 2 great results finishing 4th in the 75m hurdles and 2nd in the shot.
The U13 girls were represented by 3 girls with HollyM and Erin both winning their hurdles races comfortably for a CoLAC 1, 2 on the podium. HollyM’s fantastic sub 12s time a huge PB for her in this event. HollyM was then joined by HollyW in the Shot Putt where the former lifted the bronze this time with another PB performance of 5.28m.
There was another CoLAC 1, 2 in the U15 boys hurdles with JoshA getting the better of Bradley this time before Bradley lifted a couple of golds of his own in the LJ and Discus. Callum then ensured it was a full house of Lisburn golds with his 10.00.47 finish for first in the 3000m.
Ellie got things off to a great start for the U15 girls with her 2nd place in the 80m hurdles before Shannon and Emilia took 2nd and 3rd respectively in the LJ ahead of Kayla. Robyn ran a fantastic 3000m in her debut at this event for an excellent 4th place.
Our only U17 boy, Tom, ran a superb 9.34.05PB in his 3000m for second.
Cara and SarahW tackled three events together with Cara pipping her team mate for 1st s in both the hurdles and HJ and Sarah gaining the upper hand in the Javelin.
In the senior events Adam won the 110m hurdles and took 2nd in the HJ. AnnaM won the senior women’s HJ and Catriona ran in the senior 3000m and finished 2nd in a huge PB of 10.27.93.
