Five City of Lisburn coaches spent the day on Saturday 11 December at UUJ attending the Athletics NI and UKA coaching conference. Wendy Phillips, Andrea Anderson, Joanne Savage, Tracey Ritchie and Jonny McWhinney had a rare opportunity to work in small groups with a selection of the UK’s foremost specialist coaches.
Tracey and Joanne found the morning endurance session very interesting and informative while Jonny particularly enjoyed the jumps session with Carol Jackson. Detailed session planning, monitoring and evaluating were the themes of the day and the young athletes of City of Lisburn will hopefully benefit from the new skills and knowledge passed on to their coaches today going forward into 2011 and beyond.
