Great run by Melanie in Dublin

Wed 27 October 2010--admin

Congratulations to Melanie Minshull who had a superb run in Monday’s Dublin Marathon. Melanie ran a perfectly paced race, going through half way in 1:49, with her second half a mere 1 minute slower – a great achievement in itself. Her chip time of 3h 39:23 left her an excellent 39th in the F40 category – a fantastic finishing position from the record field of some 13,000 starters by someone who has only begun running more seriously in 2010. This was a PB by a huge 17 minutes!

Melanie is part of Eric Frizzell’s ever expanding squad, priding herself in rarely missing a Thursday night session this year. Her efforts on Monday were not her only success in 2010 as she also secured the 3rd F40 prize at the challenging Rathlin Run 10 mile race in August.

Well done Melanie and good luck for the rest of your races this year. We hope the legs recover in time for Eric’s session this Thursday!
