Lagan Valley Cross-Country 19 Sept

Barnett’s Park was the setting on Sunday for the first cross country of the season, promoted by Lagan Valley AC. There was a good turn-out of City Of Lisburn athletes across all the age-groups, with many winning prizes for their efforts.
In the Primary 5 race Olivia Neill was first girl home and 4th overall with Ben Wilson also amongst the medals in 5th. The P6 race saw medal-winining performances from Kate Gourley in 3rd overall (2nd girl) and the versatile Olivia Savage (5th girl) who was winning shot putt competitions recently! Matthew Neill was a convincing winner of the P7 race, coming home some 20 seconds clear of the rest of the field.
The year 8 race saw a great run from Rebekkah Douglas to finish 2nd girl and 3rd overall. Finally in the Senior Race over approx 3.1k, Lisburn featured in both male and female prize lists with Michael McLarnon finishing as 3rd male and Heather McLarnon first lady!
