The Curragh, Co Kildare was the venue on Sunday for the uneven age-group All-Ireland cross-country championships, with Jonny Whan leading the way for the Lisburn squad with a super run for 5th place in the U15 event. Full summary as follows:-

U11 Girls (1500m) – Olivia Neill placed 67th here from the field of 146 and enjoyed her first experience of an All-Ireland meet.

U13 Boys (2000m) – Matthew Neill also made his debut at this level, finishing 64th from 135 athletes and being sixth scorer in the Co Antrim team which finished 6th in the inter-county team event.

U13 Girls (2000m) – Rebekah Douglas helped Ulster to team bronze with her run for 40th place which left her as sixth scorer in the inter-provincial race.

U15 Boys (3500m) – Jonny Whan had one of his best ever outings, gaining an individual medal with his 5th place here. This left him as first scorer in the Co Antrim team which just missed out on a team prize.

U15 Girls (3500m) – Maddie Bowyer was just outside the individual medals here with a good run for 13th place while being a year young in this age-group. She picked up a well-deserved medal after leading home her Co Antrim team-mates to a bronze.
