Half a dozen young City of Lisburn AC athletes set off this morning from Glengall St bus station on an adventure which sees then head off to a secret location in Scotland for the filming of a CBBC TV show called “Ultimate Sports Challenge”.

The club was contacted recently and athletes were invited to apply for places on the show. The lucky six who made the cut and who were available to travel were Thomas Quinn, Ben Fisher and Andrew Hutchinson from the boys along with Phoebe Tan, Therese Hillman and Sarah Woods. They join around 14 other youngsters from the province who will participate in a series of trials over the first week with the objective of making the NI Team who will do battle against their counterparts from England, Scotland and Wales in a series of sporting challenges.

Good luck to all the Lisburn athletes!

Best of luck also to the small squad of City of Lisburn athletes heading to Killybegs, Co Donegal tomorrow for the NI and Ulster Even age-group cross-country championships.
