CoLAC in the prizes at Lisburn Sports Awards

There was great excitement at the Island Civic Centre last night in Lisburn for the Draynes Farms Lisburn Sports Personality of the Year Awards. City of Lisburn AC had a couple of tables of athletes, coaches and parents who were delighted to see the club feature twice in the awards presented throughout the evening.
Firstly Andrew Hutchinson was applauded and cheered by his team-mates as he received a well-deserved bursary following his outstanding season which included winning the Irish Schools sprint hurdles title and the Ulster Schools High Jump and Multi-Events titles.
The tension mounted as host Graham Little worked his way through the the various individual and team awards to the Junior Club Team of the Year announcement. When City of Lisburn AC were announced as the winners there were screams which could almost been have heard at the Mary Peters Track before Rebekah Douglas and half a dozen of her team-mates stepped forward to accept the handsome crystal trophy.
Congratulations and thanks to everyone associated with the Junior Club for the part played in the successes of 2011.
