Last weekend saw City of Lisburn athletes compete in a variety of local events

Dublin Half Marathon

Declan Morgan made his road debut over the half marathon distance in Dublin on Saturday, recording a useful 93:32 time which placed him 593rd from the huge field in Phoenix Park.

Belfast Victoria Parkrun 5k

Back in Belfast, three Lisburn Parkrunners attended the Victoria Park 5k run. Of the 70 participants Jonathan Fay was best placed of the Lisburn bunch in 21st overall on 21:20. Sean McGurnaghan was 26th overall in 22:14 on his debut over the course which placed him 2nd in his V45 age-category. Jonny McWhinney was 35th with a time of 23:29 which placed him as 6th V40.
NIMAA Embankment 5k
Ormeau park on Saturday saw the annual Embankment 5k promoted by the NI Masters Athletics Association, with a couple of Lisburn athletes having super runs. Dave Lonnen was 15th overall and 6th M45 in the great time of 17:40 with Judith Lowry 2nd female in 18:40.
Lough Fea Kilomathon
Kilomathons are a recent innovation for endurance events with the classic 26.2 distance being covered in metric units (kilometres) not miles. This tough multi-terrain event around the Tyrone countryside featured Lisburn’s Neil Robinson who was 37th overall out of 70 in 2 hrs 12:15.
