Jonny races in Donegal

The Donegal “Grand Prix” road race series guarantees at least one race per week across the county during the summer months. The holidaying Jonny McWhinney tackled the notorious Church Hill Fair 5k this Friday night, finishing 14th (and 3rd M40) of a field of 37.
The route starts by the shores of a lough a considerable distance below the town and after a couple of opening k’s over undulating terrain takes in a relentless 3k climb to the finish including a killer hill on the home stretch. This would account for the 23:57 time, some 2-3 minutes outside Jonny’s usual for the distance.
