A number of City of Lisburn athletes bagged district titles in Bangor last Thursday to qualify in style for the Ulster Schools in a few weeks time at Antrim. Conditions were atrocious after two weeks of glorious weather.

Anna McIlmoyle may have been the shortest in the Inter Girls high jump event but she was head and shoulders above her rivals in terms of performance, clearing a very good 1.55m in driving rain and having a decent 3rd attempt at the district high jump record of 1.60m. She also qualified in 3rd place in the 80m hurdles, while her sister Sarah made it through to Antrim as Senior Girls hurdles champion! Francesca Brown qualified safely in both 800m where she was 2nd in 2:36 and javelin where her 25.15m left her 3rd.

Adam Hill blasted to a new PB of 15.2s in the 100m Hurdles to win the Inter Boys title by almost 3 seconds while in the same age-group Josh Garnham was 2nd in the 200m in 24.5s.
