District schools XC titles for Maddy and Zoe

The Schools District B (Belfast and South Antrim) cross country took place at Ormeau Park on 01 February with strong showings from a number of City of Lisburn athletes. The highlights were great runs from Madison Bowyer and Zoe Carruthers who are district champions at Mini (year 8) and Minor (year 9) level respectively. In the Mini race Madison led her school to the team title and was just ahead of Lisburn team-mate Rebekah Douglas who was 3rd.
Natalie Fair qualified for the Ulsters behind Zoe in the Minor race, finishing 7th, while an all-Lisburn squad of Caitlin Rose, Natalja Ritchie and Cara Burke representing MCB qualified for the Ulster Schools in Mallusk in 3rd place.
In the the Junior age group races Lauren Gourley is safely through to the Ulsters after finishing 8th where she will be joined by Jonathan Whan (3rd) and Luke Fitzhenry (9th). Finally, in the Inter Girls, Rebecca Harvey led her school to the team title after a good individual run for 2nd place.
