“It’s a long way to Tipperary” as the song goes, but at least Jonny McWhinney had a PB to show for his efforts after making the trip to Nenagh this weekend for the Irish Masters Indoors. Now competing as an M40, Jonny’s 9.71m shot putt was an indoor PB and placed him 5th. In the high jump, he was just outside the medals in 4th= with 1.45m, having had to withdraw injured after his first attempt at 1.50m.
