Age-group Parkrun win for Callum

Callum Shaw became the 6th City of Lisburn athlete to record a Parkrun 5k performance with 21:39 at the Waterworks yesterday morning. This left him 15th overall from a field of 71 runners (the largest since well before Christmas) and placed him 1st Junior Male in the 15-19 age-group.
Very frosty and extremely slippery conditions meant that there was some doubt whether the event would even go ahead. There was therefore no surprise that times were on the slow side and Callum will have to wait for another day to try and better his dad Peter’s Shaw’s 21:05 performance from late last year. Peter was 3rd M45-49 and 26th overall this week in 23:06 but keeps the household bragging rights for now at least!
