Great win for Kelly at Lough 5

For the first post of 2012 it is great to be able to write of Kelly McNiece’s return from injury with a super win at the Lough 5 in Tyrone yesterday. The 5 mile race around Loughmacrory has quickly established itself as a popular run for the holiday period, with over 400 finishers. Kelly’s trip to near Omagh for this popular New Years Eve race was a worthwhile work-out, with the decent prize money attracting good quality fields of local athletes plus some talented visitors from across the water.
Kelly was first female home and 12th overall, just missing a sub-30 minute clocking with a useful 30:04 official (30:03 chip).
